Day 3/Taco total: 9

We are in Ensenada! We arrived early in the afternoon and immediately set our sights on the fish tacos for which this seaside city is known. The open-air fish market is only a few blocks from the tourist office, so it was super easy to find.

After multiple solicitations from all sorts of streetside vendors, we reluctantly allowed an old, mostly toothless man to watch our bikes in exchange for a few pesos. We are new at this…whatever.

So we took a lap around the market and settled at a taco stand near the bikes: Tacos y Mariscos Alan.

Type of tacos: two fish tacos, two marlin tacos, and a ceviche tostada (not pictured).

Rating: Que chevere! The fish tacos were quite delicious. Perhaps a bit fresher than anything you can get in Chicago, but they weren’t anything out of the ordinary. They were fried, and it’s kinda hard to mess that up (right?).

The marlin tacos, though, were exceptional. They weren’t fried, fortunately, which really made the flavor stand out. I’d eat those every day. Along with the multiple salsas and the refreshing ceviche tostada (plus a coke) this was a perfect lunch.
